Hudson Mohawke ‘Butter’ Mix and Artwork

Posted in Music with tags , , , , , , on September 3, 2009 by REAL BAD

I’ve been so lazy recently with posting on here. I’ve got a massive backlog of stuff that I want to post, mainly mixes, but they can wait…

Warp have released the artwork for Hudon Mohawke’s forthcoming album ‘Butter’ and its… well… intense. I think I love it. I’m just not sure.

Anyway, to back it up Warp and Hudson have posted a mini mix of the album over on their site. You can listen to it here.

Also, the strongest part of the album artwork, the logo, is making its way onto the T-Shirt that comes with the ‘spreadable edition’. I’ll definitely be grabbing one of these now.

In anticipation of the release of his new album, Bleep.com have posted a great interview with Hudson Mohawke. Check it out. And while you’re at it head over to their site to order the ‘Spreadable Edition’ complete with T-shirt, sticker, CD and butter tub. It looks like the page should have audio previews of all the tracks but they don’t seem to be working for me.

hypheader450Bleep.com have announced the full vinyl tracklisting for Hyperdub’s fifth anniversary compilation “5”, complete with audio clips of all the tracks
Five vinyl EPs will be released, one a week, in the run up to the release of a double CD compilation. Importantly, the double CD will feature all the tracks present on the vinyl EPs… and more! Which is good, cause I can’t see any Burial on those vinyls.
And who are Black Chow? The track is called “Purple Smoke” which hints at Joker and his gang, but there are plenty of other top-secret Hyperdub collabs rumoured (Burial+FlyLo, FlyLo+Joker) that could fit the bill…

Burial & Four Tet – Moth / Wolf Cub

Posted in Music with tags , , , , , , , on April 24, 2009 by REAL BAD

This is taken straight from the Bleep.com mailer

Burial & Four Tet – Moth / Wolf Cub

“We was so excited about this one, we couldn’t wait till next week to tell you… A split release shrouded in darkness (hence the artwork; no sales notes, no audio, no promos). We have been told the artwork will be in a black cover with a black sleeve on good old fashioned black vinyl.

One disc, two sides crafted by two of the most insurrectionary, innovative producers of the last twenty years, Burial and Four Tet… Believe us, this will fly off the shelves. Now available on pre-order and ready to ship for the release date of May 4th. Do not get left out. “Essential Purchase” has never sounded so right.”

New Burial?! With Four Tet?! I’ll give you more info when I get it.
