Burial & Four Tet – Moth / Wolf Cub – AUDIO!
After the announcement of the forthcoming 12″ from Burial and Four-Tet the internet went nuts. Information was pretty thin on the ground and there wasn’t much to go on apart from a few words from Bleep.
Well, I don’t know how old this is, but Juno has posted some audio samples of the release. So I’ve stolen them and put them here.
A couple of things strike me about these. ‘Track 1’ sounds like Burial has handled the drums and Four Tet the instrumentation. ‘Track 2’ sounds like they’ve swapped roles, especially with that vocal that drifts in and out. It’s probably not as simple as that, but that’s what it sounds like. It also confirms to me that this is a proper collaberation, not a split-release as Bleep claimed. Then again – I could be totally wrong.
*EDIT – having got my hands on the vinyl I can tell you that both of the tracks are definately collabs. Each track is about 9 mins long and have the mark of both artists all over them. The audio samples posted above – ‘Track 1’ is ‘Wolf Cub’ and ‘Track 2’ is ‘Moth’. The full versions are both amazing, but ‘Wolf Cub’ is the winner for me; nothing better than a long build up and then those Burial-y drums kicking in. Sublime. *
